Home Exercise Program

Physio treating patient's leg

Staying active and moving well matters, whatever your situation. A home exercise program from Blue Water Physio gives you a clear, personalised plan designed around your goals, your body, and the environment where you actually live.

No commuting to a clinic. No generic handout. Just a program built for you, delivered where it works best.

What is a home exercise program?

A home exercise program is a structured set of movements and activities prescribed and progressed by your physiotherapist. It forms the foundation of your ongoing care, giving you practical things to work on between sessions and helping you build strength, mobility, and confidence over time.

Every program starts with a thorough assessment. Your physio takes the time to understand where you are now, what you want to achieve, and what’s realistic for your day-to-day life. From there, they build a program specifically for you and show you exactly how to do each exercise safely.

Who is it for?

Home exercise programs can be part of physiotherapy support for a wide range of people, including:

  • NDIS participants working toward mobility and independence goals
  • Aged care clients receiving support through a Home Care Package or Support at Home
  • People recovering from surgery or a hospital stay
  • Those managing neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, MS, or stroke
  • Anyone who finds it difficult to attend a clinic regularly

If you’re not sure whether a home exercise program is right for your situation, get in touch and we’ll talk it through.

How we deliver it

We come to you. Whether you’re at home, in a supported living environment, or in residential aged care, your Blue Water Physio physiotherapist travels to you across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, including Robina, Southport, Burleigh Heads, Helensvale, Coomera, Murwillumbah, Ballina, and the surrounding areas.

Your program is reviewed and updated regularly as you progress, so it always reflects where you are and what you’re working toward. We also coordinate with your support coordinator, GP, or other members of your care team where relevant.

Funding your home exercise program

Home exercise programs delivered by a physiotherapist may be funded through:

  • NDIS – under Capacity Building (Improved Daily Living)
  • Home Care Package (HCP) / Support at Home – for eligible aged care clients
  • Medicare – under an Enhanced Primary Care plan with a GP referral
  • DVA – for eligible veterans
Private health insurance – depending on your level of extras cover
  • Private (self-funded)

Not sure which applies to you? Give us a call and we’ll help you work it out.
